The Wind Weeps
A romantic fishing tale
Although knowing practically nothing about fishing, Andrea accidently finds herself in the hard-working sub-culture of commercial fishing. She painfully learns the ins and outs of fishing from preparing the boat for the season to the camaraderie within the fishing community and its inevitable human tensions.
The setting is exquisite, wild and beautiful and the author has the talent to create vivid, emotionally packed images.
In her attempts to redefine a life for herself Andrea is forced to face the complexities of her abuse and their devastating effects on her romantic relationships.
This is a story about survival: physical survival, moral survival and survival of the soul.
The Wind Weeps, is a must-read for any woman who has been or is trying to get out of an abusive relationship. But it is also a man’s story as it involves the rugged world of commercial fishing on the gorgeous coast of British Columbia.

Thank you so much, Carol. I had no idea you were going to post, this but I appreciate it very much. I would like to add that the sequel, “Reckoning Tide,” is also available, and is a must-read if you want to know how the situation is resolved. More adventures on the coast. More love and drama. Following that, we have “Marlie,” who will meet Andrea and some of the other characters. The community is interwoven in these sequential yet stand-alone novels. Thank you for your favourable review, Carol. I’m glad you enjoyed the book.

Sounds like a wonderful book with a wonderful setting. Coastal British Columbia is beautiful. I’ve only seen a small part of it around Vancouver and Victoria, but I absolutely loved the area.

Carol, I have read “Orion’s Gift” and “Marlie.” I love how Anneli creates real, living and breathing characters, as well as some serious plot lines! You did a fine job of reviewing and giving us a taste of the book.
Thank you for sharing your positive views and insight into this book. It looks like next time I am ahead on my budget I will be purchasing two books.
I have only one more book to finish and post a review on, John W Howell’s book, “My GRL.”

Carol, this sounds like an incredibly powerful and striking book – the landscape alone is dramatic and the main storyline sounds a difficult one but obviously very well written. Thank you for sharing and introducing this writer to me.
