I see these adorable dogs, and Mark Twain’s “If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and man.” comes to mind π
Awww … you can see the students lighting up with the visit! Lovely Bau can be back at work, spread joy! πβ€οΈ
Must say reassuring to see masks is still a thing in Canada… unnerving how quickly everything has been dropped in U.K. We still wear masks in shops etc but part of a small diminishing minority!
Do you know, just today, as we were walking around the resort, we came upon a man who has terminal cancer and was sitting outside. My sweet pup “urged” me into his lot, While we spoke, No-No allowed that lovely man to scratch and rub his back, No-No grinning like he was in heaven. I immediately saw the man brighten up and all was well in his world again. What a difference dogs make in our lives! (He’s six now, all grown up. β€
Way to go, Bau! You are the best therapy dog ever. Look how much joy you give everyone you meet and all of us who read about you!! You are a superhero dog!
Thank you for sharing!!.. You and Bau sharing love and kindness, those kids will never forget!.. You have given those kids hope and the courage to follow their dreams, that someone cares.. βIβve learned that people may forget what you said, people may forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feelβ (Maya Angelou).. kudos to you!.. π
As for Bau…. π
JUST MY DOG
He is my other eyes that can see above the clouds;
My other ears that hear above the winds.
He is the part of me that can reach out into the sea.
He has told me a thousand times over that I am his reason for being:
By the way he rests against my leg
By the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile
By the way he shows his hurt when I leave without taking him.
(I think it makes him sick with worry when he
is not along to care for me.)
When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive.
When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile.
When I am happy, he is joy unbounded.
When I am a fool, he ignores it.
When I succeed, he brags.
Without him, I am only another person. ,With him, I am all-powerful.
He is loyalty itself., He has taught me the meaning of devotion.
With him, I know a secret comfort and a private peace.
He has brought me understanding where before I was ignorant.
His head on my knee can heal my human hurts.
His presence by my side is protection against, my fears of dark and unknown things.
He has promised to wait for meβ¦, whenever…wherever–in case I need him.
And I expect I will–as I always have.
He is just my dog.

Oh, Bau, that’s such a great idea to be there for students who might need a friend. It looks like you made them very happy!

Nice. I was never a ‘dog person’. Until my son talked me into a dog.

Interesting what you said about masks. Never thought about it. Just take it for granted, I guess. Have a happy and productive week, Annika. xx
