I am a criminologist and have taught Police Technology and Corrections in a college in Montreal for over eighteen years. For the past several years I have been working on The Protector, a crime novel about a young and disturbed woman’s love affair with a man she does not know is a serial killer.
The Protector is a story of a crime of passion, a psychopath’s desire to find a cure for his disease and a washed out detective whose own passion leads him to take the law in his hands.
The Protector examines the social and psychological causes of criminal behavior as well as an exploration of how one can go on living after murdering. Can one be truly free? It is a story about the effects of betrayal and the power of forgiving, oneself and those who have hurt us.
